Popcorn and Flowers

Today is....holy crap! It's Thursday of the week of Spring Break! I was sick Tuesday and Wednesday so I really don't remember what I did besides drink lots of liquid and rest...my 4 girls just enjoyed the weather in and out of the house, played video games and had friends over.

I can't get over the fact that it is Thursday. :D

Today, I was catching up on laundry and catching up on the eating I missed the last two days. *rolleyes* We popped some popcorn and sprinkled Cajun seasoning and cinnamon on it. Yes, cinnamon. It sort of curves your appetite when you are craving something and not sure what...

I had salmon and brown rice for lunch with TONS of lemon sprinkled across and around the plate. Wild salmon is the way to go.

Around noon or so, I do not keep time on days like this...what would be the point? Ok..focus... I put purple sand into crush bottles and my pink flowers popped into each one. Cheap but pretty to me...

Well the end to our day will be chicken fried rice! My oldest daughter's favorite food is *most* type of American Asian dishes.
*Edit* This is the morning after I wrote this post. They ate the chicken rice up like it was going out of style. o_O I think one didn't make it to get any! Well anyway, it's Friday now and I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend! xoxox

Pink Crochet Flowers and the Runner Rug

I LOVE bright and bold colors....I love to mix things that you would not normally expect. And then again...I love the traditional.

In this runner rug, I knitted using size 13 needles in Garter Stitch . Cast on was 60 and I knitted for 150 rows, using all of 3 skeins of the Lion Brand's Hometown USA Yarn that I won about a month ago from a Lion Brand contest. :D The flowers are just easy little put together crochet thingies! I found it hard to crochet that fat yarn, though, and did it in a loose manner after a couple of tries. (This yarn is as thick as rope!)

I now notice that the fringe on the right side is a little sparse compared to the other...the uneven is the new symmetrical look. o_O
Also, I got the idea to crochet some little flowers to add to my mini scrapbook albums. I smothered them with glitter glue and I love how they turned out. Soooo sweet!

I think I will try making some of the little flowers with the 'magic loop' and see how they turn out! Mmm what else?? I guess that's it. Talk soon!

Cardboard and Paper Initial Letters

While I was at my local Hobby Lobby, I noticed how my daughter was playing with the block initial letters while I was checking out the papers in the scrapbook supply. She loved them, and since I am not willing to pay for already made alphabet letters, I decided to make my own...MUCH cheaper version.

I took your standard cardboard and measured and drew out the letters that I wanted with pencil. I coated the letters with paper and then glittered the two above. They are embellished with studs and raised sticker flower. ( I am not sure what that puffy sticker is called, exactly.)

The second set of initials was done about the same way, except not covered in glitter.

This was definitely a fun and easy project and they were hung with ribbon, which I didn't get a pic of! Oops! Anyway Craft on Ladies!

OH! And by the way, try to always check for coupons before shopping! You won't regret it.
